I have had requests for a more fitted Layercake. I loved the idea but at the same time wanted to ensure that even when offering a more fitted garment, it would serve ALL my Layercake customers. Which means it works on a very wide range of body shapes and sizes. It's taken a while but we cracked it, so here it is!

Introduced for the warmer months of the year in our medium-weight linen, the back panels overlap from one side seam all the way to the other, so even in gale-force winds, you won't be left standing in your underwear.

The other advantage of having the wrap panels in the back rather than the more often-seen front, is that a double panel in the front means a double layer of fabric covering your legs when you sit down; not the best idea during the warmer season!

The wide, sturdy waistband resembles an OBI belt: it doesn't collapse on itself and can be worn either loose or wrapped quite tightly if that gives you the look you are after. The flexibility of the waist measurement also means you can choose whether to wrap this skirt high up on your waist or wear it lower down if that is your preferred look.

The pictures show a size 0 Skirt on a 28in waist and a size 2 on a 38in waist.

Finally, as with all of your Layercakes, I encourage you to combine this skirt with other Layercakes and/or other garments in your wardrobe. Do play to discover interesting and unexpected combinations, and please share them!
